1. You don’t have to be perfect
Being confident doesn’t mean pretending you’re perfect. Nobody is perfect, so why act like you are? Acknowledge your mistakes, acknowledge your qualities and work with what you’ve got!
2. Practice mindfulness
Mindfulness has an incredible power to increase awareness of thought patterns that create stress or anxiety within us, and then allow us to choose different thought processes which reduce stress and boost confidence instead!
3. Don’t compare yourself to others
One thing that can really bring down your self-esteem is trying to keep up with the Joneses! It’s a common mistake for entrepreneurs who may struggle with feelings of insecurity in their day-to-day work.
Comparing yourself to others is a losing battle because you will never be able to win. It’s better to focus on your own personal growth and ignore other people’s success; otherwise, it becomes the only thing you see!
4. Create a support network
Every entrepreneur has big dreams but staying positive can be hard if nobody else believes in you or your vision for your company. Surrounding yourself with like-minded people who are supportive of your goals can do wonders for keeping up self-confidence levels! It also helps to take regular time away from work to relax and rejuvenate through hobbies or social events that have nothing to do with business. 5. Find your passion
Having a clear vision of what you want to accomplish in business is crucial for keeping up self-confidence levels. But, sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated when the going gets tough. When that happens, look at why you started down this path in the first place! What really gets you passionate about what you do? That enthusiasm and drive will keep your confidence high as long as you remember what inspired you to start working towards your goal in the first place.
6. Keep an optimistic attitude
An optimistic attitude can actually change the way our brain works by creating new neural pathways which improve focus and mental clarity! So think positive thoughts whenever possible like “I do this!” or “I am effective!” These positive thoughts will train your brain to act more confidently.
7. Get Perspective on failures
Paul Haarman says a failure is only a failure if you choose to label it as such! When something doesn’t go according to plan, take time to learn how you can do things differently next time. Then, find the good in what has happened and why it happened because there is always an opportunity for learning even when things don’t go like you’d hoped. Don’t set goals that are totally unrealistic like “I’m going run 10 miles a day!” Setting unrealistic goals can be really confidence-destroying because you feel like a failure if you don’t achieve them. Set small, achievable targets that will lead to your ultimate goal and take time to celebrate the milestones along the way says Paul Haarman.
